My dad was a sniper in Afghanistan and he told me why. The head is a much harder target to hit especially in the dusty and sandy area as they are shooting from a really far distance in the mountains and would require an incredible amount of skill. He also said the head and brain is protected with helmets making it hard to kill because the bullet looses speed after traveling a long distance
Something else I've heard is humans have a sixth sense that we can't explain. When someone stares at you, specifically your head, you feel it on some instinctive level. I know someone who was trained as a marksman and he explained that they were told, in training, never focus on the head.
Im not even a gun owner let alone a sniper but this is logic. It's common sense. Do we think getting hit by a sniper rifle is like being hit in a game? Anywhere in the body could potentially kill or incapacitate anyone
They aim for center mass because if you shoot "high" on center mass it becomes a headshot, shoot "low" it becomes a gutshot, shoot "right" or "left" it can take out at least an arm, while for headshot if you shoot high, it hits air
It's literally because the target is easier to hit center mass, also the reason that they use a .50 bmg, massive kinetic force , you're not walking away from that round if it hits you anywhere above the waistline.
Wasnt the reason for landmines that you ideally want your enemies wotking on saving their comrades. Everyone you neutralize means you get one off the battlefield. Everyone you injure means you get at least one other trying to take care of them.
Ideally you have 5 amputees and 10 people trying to drag amputees home. That means 15 people unable to fight because you injured 5.
For hitmans this reason is they want to show the person who asked for the hit and get money but if they do a head shot the you get no money bc the guy who asked for the hit won’t know if it’s actually him bc there a bullet though the guys head.
1. hard to hit
2. not 100% lethal

And also the head would absolutely be destroyed
First time i see a vid yap too much to give wrong information in the end
Real reason is bigger target

Stupid video made by someone who put a lot of time and effort into something that is completely wrong for the reason many are pointing out.

That's not really how it works.
What the hell is 'unaliving'? It's not even a word and doesn't even make grammatical sense. The word is KILLING.
I go for the heart
if theyre shot the head of the target they couldnt know if that was the target
Not to mention, center mass shots take two or more out of fight. The injured, plus a least one trying to treat.
Never seen a sniper not aiming for a head..
So that at the funeral the persons face is unrecognizable I think
They should aim for th3 head cuz in the body the target will alert the rest of the squad and there will be artillery
